2400 GDP Series – A Proven Energy Recovery Desalination System

The ECHOTec ECO-Series provides the most advanced and cost-efficient RO solution in this output range. With their field-proven, ultra-reliable, rotary piston energy recovery pump, the ECO system produces 2400 gallons / 9060 Liters of potable freshwater per day from brackish or seawater at an incredibly low cost.

Ultimate energy efficiency for off-the-grid seawater desalination.

The ECO-Series has been specially designed for self-installation and operation by people without an engineering background. This desalination system comes with a comprehensive installation manual and dedicated support directly from the manufacturer. All systems are also available as turnkey-ready solutions, from the layout to the commissioning of your desalination system. Ideally suited for use with high-cost power supply and for off-grid hotels, farms, waterfront homes, small communities or disaster areas where supplying energy and clean water can be logistically complex and expensive.

The newly engineered open frame design provides a tidy appearance while allowing for easy transport and access to the system’s components for maintenance.

For freshwater capacities of 4800 GPD or 18,140 Liters/day or more, the installation of multiple redundant operative 2400-ECO-3 modules is the preferred choice. More economical than a single large system, it provides backup, eases transport and installation. During times of low water demand, only the module needed is operated.

What Is the Most Energy Efficient Desalination Process?

We are proud to say that our energy recovery desalination system is among the most energy-efficient options for people looking to create fresh water. At ECHOTec Watermakers, we take pride in revolutionizing the desalination industry with our cutting-edge reverse osmosis technology.

Our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency is exemplified by our innovative Energy Recovery systems, which set the gold standard in desalination processes. Unlike conventional methods that waste significant energy during seawater treatment, our state-of-the-art Energy Recovery technology harnesses and recycles this otherwise lost energy. By utilizing advanced pressure exchangers, we optimize the process by recovering energy. This significantly reduces the overall energy consumption of our desalination machines.

How Does an Energy Recovery Device Work?

Energy recovery devices like our ECO series work by using principles of energy transfer and conservation. These machines operate on the principle of pressure exchange, ingeniously capturing and repurposing energy that would otherwise be lost during the desalination process. As high-pressure seawater is pushed through the reverse osmosis membranes to extract fresh water, the energy recovery device cleverly recycles the energy from the discharge stream. This is achieved through a precisely engineered pressure exchanger, which efficiently transfers energy to the incoming seawater. By doing so, the energy recovery device minimizes the need for additional energy input, resulting in a substantial reduction in power consumption.

This innovative approach not only optimizes the overall efficiency of our desalination machines but also underscores ECHOTec Watermakers’ commitment to sustainability.

Is It Better to Drink Tap Water or Reverse Osmosis Water?

Choosing between tap water and reverse osmosis (RO) water depends on various factors, including the quality of tap water in a specific location. ECHOTec Watermakers’ reverse osmosis systems are designed with a focus on households situated in areas where tap water might not meet safety standards. Our advanced RO technology, incorporating the Energy Recovery System, ensures the production of high-quality drinking water by removing impurities and contaminants and ensuring optimal taste. In regions where tap water may not be safe or has a compromised quality, our RO fresh water makers provide a reliable and efficient solution, delivering clean and purified water for consumption.

Which Is Better to Drink, Reverse Osmosis or Distilled Water?

When considering the choice between reverse osmosis (RO) water and distilled water, it’s essential to understand the distinct purification processes each undergoes. Reverse osmosis, as implemented in our energy recovery desalination systems, utilizes semi-permeable membranes to remove impurities, contaminants, and minerals, ensuring a pure and crisp taste. On the other hand, distilled water is produced through a process of boiling water, collecting the steam, and condensing it back into a liquid to eliminate impurities. While both RO and distilled water offer high purity, reverse osmosis excels at selectively filtering out specific contaminants, providing a balanced mineral content for a more refreshing taste. Distilled water, while free of minerals, may lack some natural elements that contribute to taste.
